Viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape, as a novel anti-corrosion material, offers technological advantages over traditional polyethylene tapes and epoxy coatings in terms of self-healing properties, application adaptability, long-term corrosion protection, and compatibility.
Viscoelastic tape possesses unique self-healing properties. It is a non-curing viscoelastic polymer that, relying on the creep characteristics of its polymer chains, can automatically fill mechanical damage <=5mm within a temperature range of -30℃ to 80℃, ensuring the integrity of the anti-corrosion layer.
It exhibits excellent cathodic protection compatibility, with a resistivity consistently above 1×10¹² Ω·cm and no cathodic shielding effect.
It has strong strain adaptability and high elongation, capable of withstanding 3% axial strain in pipelines, making it suitable for complex geometries such as flanges, valves, and elbows, as well as high-strain areas such as directional drilling sections.
Application is convenient and efficient. The tape is flexible, has good initial tack, and requires minimal substrate surface treatment (as low as St2 grade). No special primer, heating, or curing is needed; it can be applied directly within a wide temperature range of -30℃ to 60℃.
It has long-lasting anti-corrosion and sealing capabilities, excellent airtightness and chemical resistance, and can effectively isolate moisture, air and corrosive media, with an anti-corrosion life of up to 30 years or more.
